Stacks (or pail) is a fake English term with which in Italy there is a relatively recent synthetic fabric, whose original name is Polar-Fleece or more simply Fleece. With this name it is known in Anglo-Saxon-speaking countries, while in France Tissu Polaire and Spain canvas Polar. It was created in 1979 by the development of a synthetic fiber, obtained from polyester, by the American company Maldan Mills, which deposited the brand with the name Polartec. In addition to polyester, other fibers can be added, such as polyamide, acrylic and elastane. The fleece is not really a fabric, it is obtained with a particular knitting that makes it voluminous and soft.
